What it is

OnRe is an onchain reinsurance company on Solana: cedents (insurers or MGAs) submit programs to OnRe, capital from the ONyc Pool collateralizes approved placements, and capital providers earn a share of reinsurance premiums. Your entry point is ONyc, a yield-bearing token that is not designed to maintain a fixed $1 peg but grows in value as NAV rises. OnRe targets a blended base yield of roughly 9–15% APY, and the pitch is that reinsurance returns follow actuarial and weather models rather than financial-market cycles. On the backing side, Forward Industries and RockawayX co-led a $5M Series A, and the team lists Solana, Ethena, Squads, and Coinbase Prime as partners.

There’s no token yet, but a live points program tracks how you use ONyc. The base rate is 1 point per ONyc, per day, and the multipliers go up the more actively you deploy it. Exponent is one of the best places to farm those points because it lets you split ONyc into a fixed-yield leg (PT), a leveraged yield-and-points leg (YT), or provide liquidity to both (LP).

How to farm it

In order. Skipping the first step is how people end up ineligible.

01
Get ONyc

You have two ways to do this. The first is to mint it by depositing USDC or USDT at Onre Finance. Minting and redemption follow the platform's verification and eligibility requirements, so expect KYC. The second is to swap USDC for ONyc on Jupiter or Orca, which needs no KYC. Just holding ONyc in your wallet already earns 1x points.

02
Open the ONyc market on Exponent

Go to exponent.finance, connect your wallet and find the ONyc market. Each market has a maturity date, and past ones have expired (for example, 25 Jan 2026 and 13 May 2026), so always pick the newest active one. You'll see three main products: Income (PT), Farm (YT) and Liquidity (LP).

03
Buy YT-ONyc for maximum points

YT gives you the yield and the points on a much larger amount of ONyc for a small upfront cost. On a past market, Exponent described it like this: 1 YT-ONyc gives exposure to the APY and points of 1 USD in ONyc until maturity, and YT-ONyc receives 5x OnRe Points, which matches the current docs listing Yield Tokens at 5x. Here's a worked example. With 4 months to maturity and a 14% implied APY, YT costs around $0.043 each, so $100 buys about 2,340 YT. That position earns about 2,340 × 5 = 11,700 points per day, compared with 100 points per day if you simply held $100 of ONyc. The trade-off is that YT goes to zero at maturity. If ONyc actually yields 10% over those 4 months, you'd collect roughly $75 back on your $100. So you're effectively paying about $25 for a large pile of points, and you only profit on yield if ONyc's real APY beats the implied rate.

04
Provide liquidity to the ONyc pool (optional)

The LP option is the middle ground. Liquidity Vaults combine both sides, ONyc and PT-ONyc, while layering in trading fees. You earn ONyc's underlying yield on the ONyc portion, the fixed yield on the PT portion, swap fees, and points, since OnRe counts Exponent YT and LP holdings toward your total. For example, $1,000 in LP might sit at roughly half ONyc and half PT, with a blended APY in the low teens and points accruing on the ONyc side. LP vaults have had deposit caps before and some filled up quickly, so check the capacity before you plan around it.
